FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE.
Healthy eating campaign at The Corner
The Corner has developed a campaign called Good Food, Good Mood to encourage young people to eat more healthily.
It aims to encourage young people to think about what they eat and the impact food can have on their mood.
Nutrition and diet play a significant role in an individual’s emotional wellbeing, with research finding a strong correlation between unhealthy diet and poor mental health in young people.
Staff at The Corner have planned Food and Mood workshops for local young people to help them to understand the connection between food and their mental health.
Rhea Long, Health Improvement Officer says “Through our Good Food, Good Mood campaign we would like to empower young people to make informed food choices in order to benefit both their mental and physical health.
“Raising awareness that our diet directly contributes to our physical, emotional and psychological wellbeing, as well as enabling young people to understand the importance of eating whole unprocessed foods as these can positively impact their health and wellbeing and can, hopefully, encourage young people to make more informed decisions about their future food choices.”
