‘Forget Me Not’ remembrance event at Roxburghe House
People who have lost a loved one at Roxburghe House are invited to a drop-in remembrance event at the unit.
The ‘Forget Me Not’ event will take place on Tuesday 6 May in the Macmillan Day Centre Dining Room. Family and friends are invited to drop in between 4pm and 6.30pm to honour and remember loved ones who have passed away.
There will be an opportunity to reflect and write a personal message to place on the centre’s remembrance tree, and the family bereavement and support service team and hospital chaplain will be there to support visitors.
Susan McGregor, family and bereavement support coordinator, said, “The ‘Forget Me Not’ drop-in event offers a gentle space for people to remember and honour those they’ve lost. It’s a chance to come together, share memories, and find comfort in community and reflection.”
Roxburghe House is a purpose-built specialist palliative care unit staffed by a dedicated team. People are admitted to the unit for short periods of time for the management of symptoms associated with advanced illness. The multi professional team also provide supportive and dignified end of life care.
The ‘Forget Me Not’ event is part of the Good Life, Good Death, Good Grief awareness week, which is taking place across Scotland. For more information on the event at Roxburghe House, please contact Susan McGregor on 01382 423158.
