GP services to remain at Carse Medical Practice as new GPs take over
A new GP provider will be taking over GP services at Carse Medical Practice from 15 September 2025 following a successful tender process.
Deuchar Williams Health, a long-established central Forth Valley GP training practice, will take over at the practice from Monday, 15 September, 2025.
The new provider will ensure there is continuity of care for patients as the new GPs will be working alongside current staff members.
What does this mean for patients?
• Patients do not need to take any action – they will remain registered with the new practice and will be looked after by the new GPs and the current staff of the Carse Medical Practice.
• Patients’ full medical records will remain at the practice and any new GPs and staff will have access to these, including test results
• Hospital referrals and investigations made by the current GPs and staff at the practice will not be affected
• Patient prescriptions, health visiting and district nursing services will not be affected in any way
Individual letters are on their way to patients to advise them of the news that they will be transferred over to the new GPs and provide more details.
NHS Tayside Operational Medical Director for Primary Care, David Shaw said, “We are writing out to all patients, however, we know that the community wanted to know about the outcome for their practice as soon as we knew it. The contracting process has been concluded just today and therefore we wanted to let them know as soon as possible after that.
“It really is great news for the community as the new provider ensures there is continuity of care for current patients. Throughout this process, we have welcomed the opportunity to positively engage with both the local community and local elected members who have provided important feedback.
“The GP leadership team of both NHS Tayside and Perth and Kinross Health and Social Care Partnership are pleased to share this positive outcome and we would like extend a warm welcome to Deuchar Williams Health in their new role in the local community.”
Deuchar Williams Health said, “We are thrilled to have been appointed to lead The Carse Medical. Our partnership comprises two married couples committed to the highest standards of general practice. We understand the community has been through a period of uncertainty, but we would like to reassure you that we are committed to providing excellent care. Over the coming months and years, we hope to expand our list size to provide healthcare to more people in the Carse. We look forward to engaging with the community at the earliest opportunity.”
* Primary care clinical leaders from NHS Tayside and Perth and Kinross Health and Social Care Partnership are engaging again with local elected members to discuss the next steps of any further community engagement required.
