NHS Tayside is well represented in the prestigious awards with six finalists over four categories. The Tayside finalists are:

    • NHS Tayside School Nursing Service

Global Citizenship

    • Marianne White, infant feeding advisor, Ninewells

Leader of the Year Award

    • Laura Turton, Audiology head of service, Kings Cross

Young Achiever Award

A special mention to Douglas Fairweather, Manager within Disability Services at Angus Health and Social Care Partnership, who has been named a finalist in this year’s Unsung Hero category. Also celebrating success is Alan Gallacher from Gallacher Pharmacy, a finalist in the Pharmacist category. While they aren’t NHS Tayside staff, both Douglas and Alan play a vital role in supporting our shared communities. Their recognition is a testament to the impact of strong collaborative working.

NHS Tayside Interim Chair Carole Wilkinson said, “On behalf of the Board I would like to congratulate all of the Tayside finalists in Scotland’s Health Awards. It’s a fantastic achievement to be shortlisted for these awards and I’m so pleased to see so many of our staff recognised in this way.

“We wish them all the best of luck at the awards ceremony.”

Scotland’s Health Awards are run by NHS Scotland and the Scottish Government to acknowledge and celebrate those who go the extra mile to improve the health and wellbeing of others.

The awards ceremony and gala dinner will take place in November 2025 in Edinburgh and will be attended by over 500 guests from across Scotland.
