2026 marks a significant milestone for The Corner as it proudly celebrates its 30th birthday

Since opening its doors in 1996, The Corner has been a welcoming drop-in service for young people aged 11-25, offering a safe confidential space to get support and advice for issues that are affecting them.

Throughout its history, The Corner has expanded its drop-in services to include health outreach programmes, young carers support, counselling, sexual health, emotional wellbeing services and substance outreach support (STRIVE-partnership with Hillcrest Futures).

To celebrate this landmark anniversary, The Corner hosted a special 30th Birthday celebration, bringing together over 70 staff, service users, partners and members of the community.

Gary Finlayson, The Corner’s Coordinator, said, “The Corner’s focus has remained consistent in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where individuals feel heard respected and supported.

“The Corner’s success has been built on trust, strong partnerships and passionate staff. This celebration was not only an opportunity to reflect on the past but also to reaffirm our commitment to continue to create a supportive and inclusive space for young people who need support.”

For those who were unable to attend the celebrations, the team is asking people to share their Corner stories.
