Radiology
Who We Are:
Clinical Radiology provides diagnostic imaging for all patient groups. Imaging modalities are General X-rays, Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasound (US), Flouroscopy, Interventional Radiology (IR) Dental X-ray and Dual Energy X-Ray Absorption (DEXA).
How to Refer:
All requests for imaging should be made on ICE, the request is automatically transferred to the Radiology Information System (RIS). Full clinical history will allow the Radiologist/Radiographer to prioritise the exam more accurately. Please indicate how urgent you feel the request is on the clinical history. However, the priority will be decided based on overall demand for the modality. If you need to discuss your request with a Radiologist then you can contact the Duty Radiologist on bleep 5081 or phone Radiology reception on 01382 632651 to be passed through to the Radiologist.
Open Access arrangements are in place for X-ray requests for GP/ AHP patients or clinics where the patient won't be imaged at the clinic attendance. This is not available for CT, MRI or US.
