£3200 donated to Macmillan Cancer Support at Ninewells

A local man has donated £3200 to Macmillan Cancer Support at Ninewells Hospital.

Billy Birse from Dundee raised the money in memory of his wife Michelle. He raised the money by holding a fun casino night and auction at Ballumbie Golf Club.

Billy said, “A lot of people helped to organise this event. A big thank you for all their help organising such a successful event.

“Thank you to everyone who donated their time for nothing and donations for the auction and to everyone who attended and helped to raise money for a great cause.”

Accepting the cheque, Macmillan senior specialist nurse, Erica McGaughay said, “We're delighted that Billy, his family and friends, have taken the time to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. This money will be put to good use helping patients through their ‘cancer journey’.”
