Launch of Healthy Mind podcast in Tayside

A Healthy Mind Tayside podcast talking about a range of mental health topics has launched in Tayside.

The podcast features a series of interviews with mental health professionals from across Tayside covering a variety of subjects related to mental health.

The podcast series is aimed at service users, carers, staff and people who have an interest in better understanding mental health.

The podcast was created by Alba Tost, Mental Health Team Leader for NHS Tayside’s Community Mental Health Team West in Dundee, as part of a project for the National Education for Scotland/ NMAHP (Nurses, Midwives and Allied Health Professionals) Leadership Digital Health and Care Programme.

Ms Tost said, “The programme I have been working on aims to promote the use of digital technology to support patient care. This is something that has been particularly relevant during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I hope the podcast will be used as a resource for patients and staff about some of the key mental health issues affecting people in our community. I’m very grateful to all the mental health professionals for supporting the podcast and taking part.

“Evidence shows that using technology in this way can help people engage with information more easily, so hopefully the podcast will be a valuable tool for people.”

Topics covered in the podcast series include:

    • The Benefits of Physical Activity

    • Personality Disorder, the new Diagnostic Criteria

    • Understanding Adult Autism

    • Principles or Psychosis

    • What Food has to do with it, a little grey matter
