Tayside Healthcare Arts Trust final display of group work

A mixed long-term conditions group shared their creative art works in a display in the WASPS Studio at Perth Creative Exchange.

Tayside Healthcare Arts Trust’s (THAT) mixed long-term conditions group displayed their creative visual arts work during the final session of their six week programme. The programme was delivered weekly and provided people with a gently introduction to painting and drawing techniques opportunity.

THAT lead artist Ali Price worked with participants to try various techniques such as monochrome marks, charcoal, wax resist, and inks. Ali encouraged the group to explore different art materials and techniques to find out what worked best for them.

Ali said, “I am delighted by the group’s enthusiasm and by the quality of the work they have produced. They have been a delight to work with and it’s been great to see them develop their skills and grow in confidence and ability each week.”

THAT development officer Karine Neill said, “This visual arts programme is an introduction to requests we’ve had to find out more about drawing and painting techniques. We are hoping to provide further visual arts programme opportunities within the community again next year.”

If you would like more information, please contact Karine Neill on 01382 835509 or email karine.neill@nhs.scot.

The programme is supported by The Big Lottery Community Fund, The Gannochy Trust , NHS Tayside and THAT.
