New Chief Officer for Angus Health and Social Care Partnership appointed

Jillian Galloway has been appointed as the Chief Officer of the Angus Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP).

Jillian, who is currently Head of Community Health and Care Services at Angus HSCP, started her career in the NHS as part of the cancer audit team in Ninewells in 2001, taking up her first management role in 2005.

Over her varied career to date, Jillian has held key roles in acute and emergency medicine, cardiology, prisoner healthcare and the out-of-hours service before stepping into the challenges of health and social care with Angus Health and Social Care Partnership in 2015.

Welcoming Jillian to the role, Councillor Julie Bell, Chair of Angus IJB, said, “Jillian has in-depth knowledge and experience across a wide range of services, I am delighted to welcome her as our new Chief Officer. She has proved to be an insightful leader in her current role and I look forward to working with Jillian and our senior leadership team to deliver the best care we can to the people of Angus. I believe we have an excellent team here.”

Interim Chief Executive of NHS Tayside, Professor Caroline Hiscox said, “Jillian has an impressive track record across health and care services and has been at the forefront of many service improvement programmes across Tayside over the past few years. Her leadership of community health and care services at Angus HSCP since 2020 has clearly demonstrated her dedication to her staff and the people of Angus, putting local communities at the heart of everything she does. Alongside my colleagues at NHS Tayside, I am looking forward to working with her in her new role and I know her endless enthusiasm for improving the health and wellbeing of the population will shine through.”

Incoming Angus Council Chief Executive Kathryn Lindsay said, “Having worked with Jill over a number of years and witnessing first hand her commitment to the delivery of high quality care, I am delighted that Jill has been appointed as Integration Chief Officer and have every confidence that her leadership of our local Health and Care Services will improve outcomes for the people of Angus.”

Of her appointment Jillian said, "I have had the pleasure to work with Angus HSCP since 2016, the last three as Head of Community Health and Care Services. During that time I have been inspired by the dedication of teams to deliver the best level of care to the people of Angus and it is that commitment which drives me every day to play my part in that. I feel very honoured to accept the role of Chief Officer which brings with it such diverse challenges, but I also feel extremely privileged to have the opportunity to deliver a vision which will elevate the overall health and wellbeing of the communities in Angus we serve.”
