THAT Visual Art Group share artwork in Meffan Museum Forfar

Tayside Healthcare Arts Trust (THAT) shared a display of their artwork in the Meffan Museum in Forfar.

The eight-week creative programme was designed to support people from across Tayside living with long-term conditions. For the final session of the programme, the participants displayed their artwork in the upstairs gallery at the Meffan Museum in Forfar.

THAT lead artist Jude Gove encouraged the group to explore stencil cutting and journal making along with some print techniques over the duration of the programme.

Jude said, “I am delighted by the group’s enthusiasm and by the quality of the work they have produced. They have really embraced the techniques and enjoyed developing their own hand made journals.”

Susan Curran Heritage, learning and engagement lead with ANGUSalive said, “We are delighted to work with Tayside Healthcare Arts Trust on this programme and provide a calm and welcoming space for the group to work in. It’s a great partnership and the group have really enjoyed the programme.”

Karine Neill, THAT development officer said, “This has been a great introduction to working in an Angus Museum. The programme has had a positive impact on the participants confidence. We hope to deliver more creative programme opportunities within Angus for people with long-term health conditions. The programme fosters an interest in creative process, a great sense of community between participants and develops confidence which helps with reducing social isolation.”
