Celebration of art work on display at Roxburghe House

Participants from a visual arts programme celebrated their creative art work with a display at Roxburghe House.

Tayside Healthcare Arts Trust (THAT) delivered an eight week visual arts programme in the Macmillan Day Care at Roxburghe House which was led by artist Suzie Scott and was supported by NHS Tayside staff.

During the programme participants had the opportunity to explore a variety of different art techniques and mediums such as pastels, chalks and mono printing, creating individual pieces of artwork.

The programme rounded off with a colourful art display hosted at Macmillan Day Care which was enjoyed by participants and staff.

Speaking about the programme Suzie said, “I am delighted by the group’s enthusiasm and by the quality of the work they have produced. It’s been a delight to see them grow in confidence and ability each week.”

Macmillan Day Services charge nurse, Robyn Barnett, added, “It’s been a pleasure to host this programme and bring people together to work with a local artist. The group have made some great art work, using their wonderful creative skills. Everyone is very pleased with their work and staff have loved being involved with this programme.”

THAT development officer Karine Neill said, “This has been a great programme to be part of. We had incredible support from the staff involved. Suzie worked really well with everyone, and the programme allowed us to explore techniques and create lovely art work whilst at the same time promoting social contact.”
