Acute Renal Ward (Ward 22)

Ward 22 is a 15-bedded renal inpatient facility providing a high-quality, safe and supportive environment in order to care for patients and clients within the Renal Service of the Critical Care Clinical Group.

Ward 22 provides a regional service for patients and their families throughout Tayside and North-East Fife.
The renal ward cares for:

  • Patients with acute kidney failure/newly diagnosed kidney disease
  • Patients with chronic kidney failure requiring nursing/medical assessment
  • Patients with kidney disorders requiring investigations/treatments
  • Transplant patients requiring assessment/nursing and medical care
  • Patients who are admitted for surgery to have a fistula creation or a line insertion (catheter) for dialysis access to enable haemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis treatments to be carried out
The renal ward provides infusions to patients requiring treatment for diseases of the kidneys.
