Can I have a transplant?

Potential Transplant Recipients must be healthy enough to have the transplant operation, and be willing to take medications every day after they receive their transplant.
In many cases, people who are older or have other health conditions like diabetes can still have successful transplants. Potential Recipients will have a full assessment to make sure they are a suitable for a transplant.?The assessment helps us find any problems, so they can be corrected and managed before the transplant happens. The assessment includes a variety of different tests and investigations to look at your health and body function.
About 50% (one in two) of people with kidney failure are suitable for a transplant.
