Service information

  • Pelvic Health Physiotherapy Team and Tayside Continence & Advisory Service (CATS) both use the "Continence Clinic" hub on SCI gateway so please continue to use this method to refer all patients.
  • Patients are triaged to either a nurse or physiotherapy clinic depending upon their symptoms.
  • All patients receive a full holistic assessment and will receive information and support with lifestyle factors (including constipation). Vulval skin is also assessed during examinations.
  • GP’s/Surgeries are kindly requested to advise patients that they cannot call the CATS or Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy service to self refer or request containment products following referral until they have completed a full continence assessment. For frail patients you may wish to consider whether referral to the district nursing service for a holistic assessment would be appropriate.
