- Suspected 1st Seizure
- Please include in referral
- Description of event, including prodrome and post-event symptoms.
- Details of drug and alcohol intake to allow triage to appropriate clinic
- Confirmation that an ECG and basic bloods (FBC, U+Es, iLFTs, calcium, and glucose) have been undertaken
- Please ask the patient
- To stop driving, they do not need to inform the DVLA until seen.
- Document this advice in the letter.
- To have a witness available for their appointment, if possible, and request them to video any further events.

- Patients with features of vasovagal syncope, even if associated with brief jerking of the limbs
- Collapse - ?cause. Unless the patient has had prolonged (>5 minutes) loss of time +/- sustained movements of limbs +/- post-ictal confusion (unable to recognise family / friends)
- Patients with an abnormal ECG suggesting a cardiac cause of collapse.
