Dietetic-Led Adult Coeliac Disease Service

Who we are

The Dietetic-led Coeliac Disease (CD) Service operates Tayside wide providing support to adults with a confirmed diagnosis of CD.

How to Refer

  • Please refer electronically using SCI-Gateway.
  • All referrals are triaged centrally and allocated an appropriate intervention i.e. Near Me 1:1 or group session, in person or telephone appointment.
  • Please note serologically confirmed coeliac disease (diagnosed in Primary care) age 50 or over, should also be referred directly from Primary Care for upper GI endoscopy.

Key Information to Include in referral:
  • Anthropometric data (height, weight)
  • Medical history.

Who to Refer

  • Adults who have a confirmed new diagnosis of CD as per the NHS Tayside Adult Coeliac Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Pathway
  • Adults with an established diagnosis of CD and/or dermatitis herpetiformis who are not currently registered with the NHS Tayside Gluten Free Food Service. Please note only patients with a confirmed diagnosis of CD and/or dermatitis herpetiformis are eligible to access the Gluten Free Food Service.

Who not to Refer

  • Where diagnosis has not been confirmed. See pathway
  • Note that patients with red-flag symptoms should be referred urgently to gastroenterology/endoscopy.
