Volunteering with MoveAhead Community Developments

There are a number of volunteer roles supporting the work of MoveAhead which see volunteers encourage people who are isolated to get out of their homes, engage with others and learn new skills.

Volunteers support people with long term health conditions, including mental health difficulties, to access a wide range of opportunities such as leisure, educational, recreational and social pursuits.  MoveAhead develops community facilities in partnership with local services to provide a range of opportunities that support and facilitate positive mental and physical wellbeing.  Volunteers co deliver local services with MoveAhead in a variety of roles including Book Group Facilitator, Creative Writing Facilitator, Exercise Buddy, Walk Leader, Cycle Run Leader to name but a few.  We are always creating new volunteer roles and work in a dynamic way to meet the needs of the local population.  Our volunteers provide an invaluable service and this allows us to create and maintain sustainable and effective services.
