Urgent or emergency referrals will only be accepted from GP's, Hospital Doctors, or Community Paediatricians.
Requests for urgent assessment will be reviewed and when accepted as meeting the urgent criteria the child or young person will be offered an appointment within 5 working days, whilst emergency referrals will be responded to within 24 hours.
Referrers are asked to clearly outline the clinical factors that indicate urgency or emergency presentation within the referral documentation.
