DEEAP - Dundee Energy Efficiency Advice Project

DEEAP provides a service throughout the city advising householders on fuel tariffs, how to reduce bills, energy efficiency measures, advocacy work resolving individuals debts with energy suppliers, and other advice and referral work. 

DEEAP Can give advice on all energy related issues including:
  • Billing problems
  • Heating system demonstrations
  • Energy saving tips
  • Refer to Connect or Welfare Rights for Benefit checks
  • Low energy light bulbs
  • Dampness and condensation problems
  • Fuel supplier issues
  • Fuel bank vouchers

Fuel Bank Foundation

People can apply for fuel vouchers if they meet the criteria.

Please email deeap@dundeecity.gov.uk with the following details:
  • full name, address and date of birth
  • number of people in the home over and under 18 years of age
  • details of benefits and income
  • name of energy supplier
  • if you have a smart meter or not, include photo of meter clearly displaying credit
  • proof of address

HEAT - Hillcrest Housing Association (Hillcrest Tenants only)

Hillcrest Energy Advice Team (HEAT) offers a free energy advice service that can help with:
  • Show you how to use your heating and hot water systems efficiently
  • Provide assistance with faulty heating or hot water systems
  • Give tips on how to reduce energy consumption in the home
  • Help you switch to a cheaper supplier or tariff, or change your payment methods
  • Advise you on and help you apply for the Warm Home Discount and Winter Fuel Allowance
  • Offer advice and support with energy debt, and deal with energy companies on your behalf
  • Help you reduce moisture and condensation in your home, to prevent or reduce mould
  • Advise on any grants and fund that are available – and help you apply

Home Energy Scotland

We offer free, impartial advice on energy saving, keeping warm at home, renewable energy, greener travel, cutting water waste and more.

If you're struggling to heat your home, you could be eligible for support from the Scottish Government funded Warmer Homes Scotland programme to help make your home warmer and cosier.

SCARF

Scarf offers free and impartial energy saving advice to help people lower their fuel bills and carbon emissions. Over the phone, online or face-to-face they can offer information about grants and funding, energy efficiency improvements for the home, fuel debt and billing, and much more.
