Weight loss- what to do?

Keys things to monitor are:
  •  A low weight and/or a large drop in weight over a short period of time can result in a poor immune system, delayed recovery, low energy levels and nutritional complications. Therefore if you notice a drop in clothes size, jewelry becoming loose or if you self monitor your own weight and notice a big drop please seek help from your doctor or dietitian.

10% weight loss is significant for example if you were 60kg and lost 6kg this would be classed as significant

  •  If you are eating and drinking very small amounts you will be at a high risk of becoming dehydrated and nutritionally compromised. For example eating one meal a day or only managing quarter to half portions of meals. If you are vomit regularly this will also result in a loss of nutrition.

Do I have a healthy Body mass Index (BMI)?

Your BMI determines if you are a healthy weight for your height, it is split into 6 ranges. Aim to be within the Normal range as best able.

Please use the BMI chart to determine what range your BMI is in.

If your BMI is above the normal ranges please see the links and resources below to help achieve a lower BMI
