The Community Midwife Unit in Perth provides family centred care with a strong emphasis on skilled, sensitive midwifery. This is provided by dedicated team of midwives in a relaxed, informal environment. Priority is given to the natural process of birth with freedom to move around, enabling every woman to birth in her own way.
Having a baby is one of the most important events in your life. With appropriate support and care from highly skilled midwives, the vast majority of women can have a straight-forward natural birth.
If your pregnancy is low-risk and you and your baby are well, you can give birth in our Midwife Unit. We have 3 birthing rooms, two birth pools, birth stools, cub chair and birth balls. We also offer dads the option of staying overnight (subject to room availability) if their partner gives birth in Perth.
