In Angus we have a Community Maternity Unit in Arbroath. The birth unit provides a calm, friendly and safe environment for women who are not expected to require assistance from a Doctor during labour and birth.
Mothers and babies can stay in the units from 6 to 24 hrs after baby is born.
The Maternity unit provides a full range of pain relief for labour including water , with the availability of two birthing pools.
The Angus Midwifery Team have achieved Unicef “baby friendly” accreditation for their support of women to breastfeed their babies in Angus.
