Who is the Perinatal Mental Health Team

We are a multidisciplinary team who provides specialist assessment, care and treatment to women in the perinatal period who are experiencing (or are at risk of developing) moderate to severe mental illness during pregnancy and up to 12 months post-natal.

We will also offer preconception advice to women who are considered to be at greater risk of developing serious mental health problems. We aim to work in partnership with women, their partners and families and other professionals involved in women’s care, and provide the best possible care and early intervention to ensure the best possible outcome for women, their infants and families.

We aim to work flexibly across Tayside and will offer contacts with women across Tayside via video consultation ‘Near Me’, telephone or face-to-face appointments (in clinics, their locality or home visits) dependent on individual needs.
