Occupational Therapy

There are two different teams of occupational therapy that can provide a range of support for you in the community.

Community Occupational Therapy

Community Occupational Therapy can support you if you are having difficulty managing everyday activities at home because of an illness, disability, injury or change in your physical abilities.

An Occupational Therapist can assess your needs and provide practical advice to help you remain safe, independent and confident in your own home. This may include advice about managing everyday activities, equipment, adaptations to your home or strategies to make tasks easier and safer.

If you think you would benefit from Community Occupational Therapy, you can speak to your GP, healthcare professional or other member of your care team about a referral.

Alternatively, you can self refer into the service through this contact number: 01382 307645.

Social Work occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy is also available through Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership's Social Work service.

The Occupational Therapy team based at Dundee Independent Living Centre can provide assessment and advice for people who are having difficulty managing everyday activities and may require equipment, adaptations or other support to remain independent at home.

The Dundee Independent Living Centre also provides an opportunity to view and learn about equipment and solutions that may help with everyday activities.
