Pacing Your Activities
Pacing can help you manage activities without repeatedly overdoing things and worsening your symptoms.
Try To:
- Break larger tasks into smaller activities.
- Take planned breaks before your pain becomes overwhelming.
- Spread activities throughout the day or week.
- Alternate more demanding activities with easier tasks.
- Avoid rushing to complete everything at once.
The aim is not to stop doing activities completely. Instead, pacing can help you find a more manageable and sustainable level of activity.
Finding A Balance
Everyone's situation is different.
Some people may be avoiding activity because they are worried about making their pain worse. Others may continue doing too much until their symptoms become difficult to manage.
Try to find a balance between activity and rest that allows you to continue doing the things that are important to you.
