Setting Goals

When pain has been affecting you for a long time, it can be helpful to focus on what you would like to be able to do rather than only focusing on reducing your pain.

For Example, Your Goals Might Include:

  • Walking to the local shops.
  • Playing with your children or grandchildren.
  • Returning to gardening.
  • Improving your confidence when moving around.
  • Sleeping better.
  • Returning to work or hobbies.
  • Being able to exercise regularly.

Start with a realistic goal and break it down into smaller steps.

Progress is not always a straight line, and some days may be more difficult than others. Small improvements can still make a meaningful difference.
