What does Penumbra Peer Service offer? Our team of Peer Workers offer short-term mental health and wellbeing support to people who are feeling isolated, overwhelmed or finding it hard to cope. What are Peer Workers? Peer Workers are trained mental health practitioners, who have their own lived experience of mental health challenges. Peer Workers use their personal experience and unique insight to support others.

Who to Refer

Penumbra Peer Service is available to young people aged 11 – 15 years (in secondary education), registered at any South Angus GP Practice or attending any South Angus High School. The service provides short-term support to young people experiencing mental health difficulties. Peer Workers will ensure young people feel listened to and provide a confidential space for them to talk about their mental health. Peer Workers can offer a range of self-management tools and resources to help young people find ways to manage their mental health and wellbeing. Workshops on Wellbeing are also offered in each South Angus High School by our Peer Workers.

Who not to Refer

Our service provides short-term support (3 – 4 sessions) only.

Referrals can be made by emailing: angusyoungpersons@penumbra.org.uk Please include young persons Name, DOB and the High School they attend.
