Pay
NHS Tayside is a Living Wage employer and as such the lowest available salary of £24,518 translates into an hourly rate of £12.74 per hour, which is above the Scottish Living Wage of £12.60.
Your NHS Pension Contributions
The NHS Scotland Pension Scheme provides NHS Tayside staff with a high-quality pension scheme that offers defined benefits at retirement and protection for your dependents based on your average earnings.
The amount you pay towards your pension scheme depends on your ‘pensionable pay’ (which is your salary, wages, fees and any other regular payments but not any bonuses, expenses or overtime payments).
Contributions are subject to tax relief and reduced National Insurance contributions. NHS Tayside also makes a substantial contribution towards scheme benefits – currently around 20.9% of basic pay.

Annual Leave
NHS Tayside employees are entitled to a generous amount of annual leave, surpassing the statutory entitlements. The annual leave entitlement for employees on the Agenda for Change pay system ranges depending on length of service within NHS.

We offer health and social care staff across NHS Tayside 50 minute staff support sessions with in locations across Tayside, by telephone or MS Teams.
A space is provided to reflect on whether the situation is about:

• Workplace problems
• Home life or family difficulties
• Ill health
• Loss and bereavement
• Relationship problems
• Disciplinary issues
• Victim of crime etc
The sessions are a safe place to be heard, understood and valued, to explore possibilities, to identify sources of support, to find direction, to realise your choices and come to decisions.
