NHS Tayside's Annual Review

Each year NHS Tayside holds an Annual Review. This is an opportunity for staff and the public to come along to hear an update on the Health Board’s performance and its plans for the future.

Attendees are given the opportunity to submit questions about healthcare services in Tayside in advance of the annual review. A selection of questions will be answered during the session, with the remainder answered and posted on the NHS Tayside website within one month. This gives members of the public, patients, their families and carers a chance to see how NHS Tayside is doing and ask questions about the services provided.

Ministerial Annual Review

The Health Board also has its performance reviewed by the Scottish Government regularly. This process is called the Ministerial Annual Review. It is held over a whole day within NHS Tayside.

The Minister and officers of the Scottish Government meet with clinicians, staff and patient groups in the morning.

In the afternoon a public meeting is held to discuss NHS Tayside’s performance in the year since the previous Annual Review. During the meeting the minister will discuss with the Chair, Chief Executive and Directors about how well the organisation has performed over the last year.

Attendees are also given the opportunity to pose questions to a panel of NHS Tayside Directors. This gives members of the public, patients, their families and carers a chance to see how NHS Tayside is doing and ask questions about the services provided.
