Personal Profile
Bob Benson is committed to good governance at Board level around strategic leadership, performance and accountability, and cultural change. He brings a strong foundation of experience drawn from UK, GB and Scottish Governance, advisory, directorships, management and practice roles, including volunteering. Bob recently stood down as a member of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, a body undergoing transformational change to meet the challenges to public service posed by the Christie Commission recommendations.

He has been at the forefront of equality and human rights development through executive leadership and advisory governance in Scotland and GB, particularly in addressing the needs and rights of disabled people in employment, access, health and social care, and education to improve their inclusivity. Bob is proud to have contributed to charitable and public bodies through his work on strengthening communities, community investment, empowerment models, and developing philanthropic leadership.
