Volunteering at Perth Royal Infirmary

PRI Photo

Perth Royal Infirmary (PRI) is an acute hospital with both inpatient and outpatient facilities.  Here there are volunteering opportunities as ward volunteers or Welcome Guide volunteers.

Ward volunteers carry out befriending and companionship roles, listening to and talking with patients, reading newspapers/books/letters to patients, helping ward staff with provision of refreshments, helping patients complete menus, running errands for the patients such as going to the shop for a paper, etc.

Welcome guide volunteers are situated at the main entrance of the hospital and can give directions or take patients or visitors to wards, clinics and other hospital services.  They are easily spotted in their purple Here to Help waistcoats.
