North East Sensory Services

North East Sensory Services is commissioned to provide a Joint Sensory social work, equipment and rehabilitation service on behalf of Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership for people who are affected by sensory loss. We support children, adults, and their families.
 
In relation to deafness, we cover the whole range of hearing loss from people who have acquired hearing loss, people who lip read, use hearing aids and/or cochlear implants, people who communicate through British Sign Language, people with dual sensory loss or who are Deafblind, people who have a congenital loss or have developed hearing loss through illness or trauma. Our team of social workers, rehabilitation officer, field work assistant and resource workers all have been trained to use good communication tactics and Deaf Awareness and have BSL skills.

We have a resource centre with equipment on show for people to try out. Our equipment workers can advise about different assistive devices. We can also assist people make claims for benefits they may be entitled to.
