The Poppy Suite was gifted from various charities including Ronald McDonald Children’s Charities and Dundee University. It is located in close proximity to the children's ward and the High Dependency Unit. It takes around two to three minutes to walk there. It comprises seven bedrooms all with en-suite facilities, remote control TV and a safe for valuables. We have six twin rooms and one single room. There is a shared kitchen with cooking facilities and a dining room. We also have a utility room with a washer/dryer. Towels and bed linen are provided. Personal care items can be obtained from the shop on Level 7 and washing facilities are available.
The Poppy suite is shared with maternity and NICU Services. For patients and families who live outwith Dundee, it reduces the financial and time burden of travelling back and forth to hospital. Your child’s nursing teams can arrange this accommodation for you. Rooms are allocated on a first come first served basis and there is no charge to use the Poppy suite. However, if we have lots of parents staying you may be required to share a twin room to ensure that as many parents as possible can benefit.
