Andrew Thomson elected as Chair of Tayside’s Area Clinical Forum from 1st June 2022.

Andrew is a General Practitioner and is a Partner in Ravenswood Surgery, Forfar, Angus. He attended Dundee Medical School qualifying in 1996 and has worked in various specialties in NHS Tayside before a period of training in Paediatrics in Edinburgh and Jersey as well as a period of secondment to the Scottish Government Health department to support implementation of Junior doctor contracts. He returned to NHS Tayside to undertake his GP training rotation, qualifying in 2007.

Andrew has significant experience of representing colleagues both through the GP Subcommittee of the Area Medical Committee in Tayside and Tayside Local Medical Committee. He has also represented his colleagues at Scottish & UK level through both the British medical Association and Royal College of General Practitioners.

In his role as Chair of the Area Clinical Forum, he seeks to facilitate and enable representatives of the professional advisory structures to work collaboratively, delivering and maintaining quality care services and providing professional clinical advice to NHS Tayside.
