Digital Therapies (cCBT)

Our service provides a variety of computerised self-help programmes, each specifically tailored to a range of different clinical conditions. These programmes are based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which has been found to be highly effective for a variety of clinical conditions.

Computerised CBT (cCBT) helps teach you more about your clinical condition and the relationship between how your thinking can affect how you behave and feel. You will then learn from the programmes different skills and techniques to manage these issues.

When considering cCBT it may be helpful to know:
 
  • Over 30,000 people in Scotland are referred for cCBT each year
  • Access to cCBT is free and when referred we will contact you within 5 working days to give you further information, answer any questions and help get you set up
  • Your information will be private, secure and confidential.
  • Research shows cCBT is highly effective in improving problems
  • cCBT can be accessed on smartphones, tablets, laptops or computers a time and location that suits you
  • Support is provided by our NHS Digital Therapies Service

SilverCloud

Silvercloud logoSilverCloud provides a variety of treatment programmes that are tailored to specific conditions.

Each package has between 6-10 core modules to work through over the course of approximately 8-10 weeks. These can be completed in a flexible manner at a time and location that suits.

We recommend spending around 40 minutes over the course of week on these. We have the following programmes available:

NHS professionals, including GP practice staff and mental health professionals can arrange for you to have access to these programmes.

Sleepio/Daylight

Sleepio logo Sleepio and Daylight are science-backed, digital therapies, personalised to your needs – no prescriptions or doctors’ visits needed. They were built by leading mental health experts using evidence-based techniques, in collaboration with creative storytellers such as Pixar- because we believe mental healthcare should not only be effective, but also positive and fun.

Start with just a two-minute quiz to learn your Sleep Score and how to improve it, or discover your Anxiety Type and how to manage it.

Sleepio - Insomnia/Sleep Difficulties

Sleepio is an effective long-term solution to sleep troubles and has been validated in 12 randomised controlled trials and over 13,000 participants. In one randomised trial, Sleepio helped 76% of poor sleepers achieve healthy sleep.
  • You start with a two-minute quiz to find out your Sleep Score and get a personalised report.
  • Then you’ll be guided through online sessions by your animated sleep expert, The Prof, to learn a range of cognitive and behavioural techniques that are proven to work.

Daylight - Anxiety

Daylight logo Daylight is an effective long-term solution for anxiety and worry, with one randomised trial showing a 71% improvement in those with high levels of anxiety who used the programme, helping them to greatly reduce their anxiety symptoms and improve overall mood.

  • You start by taking a two-minute quiz to discover your Anxiety Type and identify the types of thoughts and behaviours that may be keeping you stuck.
  • Then, after understanding your challenges and priorities, Daylight guides you through interactive exercises to tackle your worries and feelings.
  • These exercises help you learn to relax, change your perspective on anxious thoughts, and address your fears, so that you can feel more present and in-control.
