We would encourage patients, visitors and staff to consider alternative ways of getting to hospital such as using public transport, cycling, walking and arranging to be dropped off by a relative or friend. If it is essential that you travel by car, please leave adequate time to find a space prior to your appointment.

NHS Tayside has a Car Parking Policy to balance the needs of staff, patients and visitors, and ensure our car parks continue to be fairly and effectively managed.

Electric vehicle charging points

There are public electric vehicle charging points located at the far end of car park 6.

  • Free parking tickets can be collected from the ‘collect and display’ points found across the site.

Please note this entrance should be used only where specific patient assistance is required.
  • There is a shuttle bus service available on weekdays from 9.00am to 5.00pm between car park 9, the multi-storey car park and the main entrance. • There is a mobility scooter and wheelchair service available operated by Saba UK (contact 01382 645030 for further information).

Parking charge notices (fines)

Penalty charge notices (parking fines) will be issued for any breach of the parking terms and conditions, including:
  • vehicles parked in permit only areas and not displaying a valid permit.
  • vehicles not displaying a free ‘collect and display’ parking ticket.
  • parking outwith the designated parking bays (including parking on grass areas).
  • staying over the time limit for the car park.

If you feel you have been given a penalty charge notice in error, information about how to appeal can be found on the penalty charge notice.
  • It is extremely important that if you think you have received a parking charge notice incorrectly that you follow the appeal process immediately as this will freeze any impending case and give extra time for the appeal to be heard.
  • Please do not ignore any parking charge notice as this may lead to further charges being added as the unchallenged notice escalates.

Car park management

Saba manages the car parks on site.

The Saba UK office is located on the ground floor of the multi-storey car park. You can also contact Saba UK on 01382 643969.

Saba staff will patrol the site checking that vehicles are:
  • parked in appropriate areas and not causing any obstruction.
  • parked fully in marked designated parking bays.
  • displaying valid parking ‘collect and display’/staff permits where applicable.

Please read the Terms & Conditions of parking within the car park/parking areas you use.

If you receive a parking charge notice, please follow the instructions on the back of the notice to appeal or pay your notice. You can also appeal or pay your notice online.
