What do we provide?
- 50 minute confidential appointments
- Active listening, assets-based model
- You are in control of subject matter – whatever you find challenging at the time
- Flexible timing of follow up appts. (usually up to 6)
- Appointments usually available within a week (9-5 Mon-Fri) by phone or in person in your GP practice if available
How does it work?
- It normalises responses to stressful events, and understandable emotions
- It can help you reconnect with or discover new assets/sources of strength in your life
- It provides enough time to tell your whole story, and safety to express any emotion
What have patients said?
- They feel less anxious (often a substantial reduction)
- They feel more in control, aiding self-management of conditions
- They feel understood and have a more positive outlook on life
- They feel a greater sense of peace

- NES trained, experienced volunteers and staff
- Professionally supervised and managed
- Age 16+
- Registered with an NHS Tayside GP practice
- Struggling with any challenging life situation such as your health, relationships (work or home), loss and bereavement, caring responsibilities, life changes or worries.
- Not currently in hospital - for inpatient support, contact the chaplaincy team 01382 423 110, and not currently in crisis - contact your GP, 101 or 999
