If a referral is accepted into CAMHS, the waiting time will depend on the level of urgency identified at the point of referral. For most routine referrals, we aim to offer an initial appointment within 18 weeks of receiving the referral.
Referrals assessed as urgent are prioritised, and we aim to see the child or young person within 5 working days.
Where concerns meet the threshold for an emergency referral, CAMHS will arrange to see the young person within 24 hours to ensure immediate assessment and support.
