We offer support to individuals from ages 8 to 90+ years old who find themselves in an unpaid carers role. Our service is designed to cater to the unique needs of carers, ensuring they receive the information, resources, and help they deserve.

Change Mental Health - Carer Support

At Carer Support, we offer individual support in person, through phone, email or video conferencing. We provide emotional support, access to local peer support groups, and a range of useful information and advice to those you are being a carer to someone living with mental illness.

Our Carer Support team provide a safe space where carers can talk about their needs without judgement. We identify and develop coping skills and strategies to support you.

Dundee Dementia Resource Centre

The centre aims to support people with dementia, their families, relatives and friends at any stage of the illness. The following support is on offer:

Health Inclusion Nursing Team

This team offers community based holistic health and wellbeing checks and health consultations to those at higher risk of health inequalities e.g: those affected by substance use, homelessness, mental health and wellbeing issues, carers, offenders and prison leavers. The nurses offer person centred information, advice and support, as well as referral and/or signposting to other services and supports. They can also deliver stress management courses to support self-management of mental wellbeing. For those who need support to engage independently with other services or positive community-based activities, this can be offered by a Keep Well Associate Practitioner.

Maggie's

The centre in Dundee is a space for being together or for a moment alone, for getting going again or for meeting people who just get it.  All cancer support specialists have expert knowledge about cancer and treatment, and many are NHS-trained.

Support is available for family and friends, Maggie's can help you find ways to have difficult conversations and support you as you come to terms with changes in your life.  No appointment is required, they are open Mon-Fri 9am-5pm

Shared Care Scotland

In Scotland it is estimated there are between 700,000 and 800,000 people of all ages who provide unpaid care for a family member, partner, friend, or neighbour who needs assistance due to a physical or mental illness, disability, age or addiction-related health problems.

Access to breaks from caring provides a much-needed release from the physical and emotional demands of the caring situation and can help carers achieve better balance in their lives by looking after their own health and wellbeing.
