The Medical Team comprises 7 Consultants with expertise in IBD and they are supported by Specialist registrars (doctors in training). Every Wednesday a Multi-Disciplinary Team meeting meets to discuss the most poorly patients with IBD, to ensure evidence-based practice, and facilitate entry to IBD Clinical Trials.
Dr Max Groome
- Dr Groome graduated from the university of Dundee in 2001 and has been a consultant in NHS Tayside since 2010. His interests include Biliary Diseases as well as Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
Dr Craig Mowat
- Dr Mowat graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1992 and has been a consultant in NHS Tayside since 2002. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh). He has previously authored the UK Guidelines on the management of inflammatory bowel disease. He is actively involved in research in this field including enabling patient access to trials of new drug treatments.
Dr Jacqueline Paterson
- Dr Paterson trained in gastroenterology in Dundee. Her interests include Nutrition and IBD.
Dr Scott Levison
- Dr Levison was head of the IBD service in Manchester Royal Infirmary before relocating to NHS Tayside.
- Dr McLean is a Reader in Gastroenterology and Honorary Consultant. She previously trained and worked in Aberdeen before relocating to Dundee. She has a research interest in the immune response in IBD.
- Dr Kemp trained in the West of Scotland and recently joined the team in NHS Tayside. She has a particular interest in Nutrition as well as IBD.
- Dr Dix trained in gastroenterology in Dundee. She has an interest IBD and in Barretts oesophagus
