Dragons' Den

NHS Tayside Innovation held their first Dragons' Den style competition on Thursday, 25 April 2024, supported by NHS Tayside Charitable Foundation, within the Ian Lowe Centre in Ninewells Hospital, which was a great success! Thanks to everyone involved including NHS Tayside Charitable Foundation, our six brave finalists who are all NHS Tayside staff, our Dragons, audience members who came to watch and our event support crew. NHS Tayside Innovation worked very hard over recent months to make the event a success which really paid off. Hopefully the event has shown that everyone in NHS Tayside has the potential to be an innovator.

Here's what people had to say about our event:

"It was great to hear some of the amazing ideas for innovation in Health Care."

"This is one of those events which is fun and exciting for people participating or watching. It raises awareness that innovation comes from a small bud of an idea, from all members of the interdisciplinary team."

"The event was very well organised and professional. The innovators were very brave and super well prepared, it was almost mind blowing that the prep they had done was on this level. Well done to all."

"The slick, professional and engaging way it was delivered, very lively and colourful and created a buzz."

Networking and Learning Event - 'NHS and Industry - Building Strong Connections to Drive Innovation' - Tuesday, 23 January 2024

NHS Tayside Innovation hosted a Networking and Learning Event in January called 'NHS and Industry - Building Strong Connections to Drive Innovation'. The event was co-facilitated by CodeBase, a company that supports tech start-ups and has recently partnered with the Chief Scientist Office to support healthcare innovation through their Techscaler programme. Delegates from a wide range of organisations came together at Abertay cyberQuarter in Dundee to learn more about how the NHS can collaborate effectively with industry to address challenges in healthcare. The afternoon was informative and engaging with opportunities to showcase some of the innovation work taking place in Tayside, share experience and network.
