Meet the people behind the change programme

We are committed to putting people with lived and professional experience at the heart of every aspect of work to co-develop and co-deliver the Tayside Mental Health & Wellbeing Strategy and Change Programme.
People from a range of different organisations across Tayside, including NHS Tayside, local authorities, Police Scotland and third and voluntary sector, as well as those living with mental health conditions and their families and carers, have been invited to work with the Programme Team to write the Strategy, redesign our services and develop a new way of engaging with our local communities.

Here are some of the some key people behind the Change Programme.

The Tayside Executive Partners

Tayside Executive Partners

The Tayside Executive Partners – which are the Chief Executives of NHS Tayside and Angus, Dundee City and Perth & Kinross Councils and the Tayside Divisional Commander Police Scotland – signed up to a Joint Statement of Intent in response to Dr Strang’s Trust and Respect report.

Grant Archibald (NHS Tayside), Margo Williamson (Angus Council), Gregory Colgan (Dundee City Council), Thomas Glen (Perth & Kinross Council) and Chief Superintendent Phil Davidson (Police Scotland) are commited to making all necessary improvements so that people from all communities across Tayside receive the best possible mental health and wellbeing care and treatment.

This underlines the importance of strong partnerships in providing high-quality mental health services.

The Listen. Learn. Change. Action Plan for mental health services in Tayside was developed in response to Trust and Respect on behalf of, and under the direction of, the Tayside Executive Partners. The plan was endorsed by the Board of NHS Tayside for all organisations involved in delivering mental health services.

Brook Marshall

Brook MarshallBrook is Chief Executive Officer for Feeling Strong and is Co-Chair of the Communications and Engagement Sub Group.

What do you want to achieve in your role?
I want to ensure that our communities have a voice in this process, and that we’re working with them in a sincere and transparent way.

Why do you think the Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Service Change programme will make a difference to patients and staff?
I believe that this change programme has the potential to be transformative if we commit to resourcing it and putting communities at the heart of the journey.

What involvement have you had with the Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Service Change Programme?
I’ve been a member and now co-chair of the Communications and Engagement Sub Group, and it’s my role to encourage the members of the group to come to a consensus and facilitate decision making and input from communities across Tayside.  I also hope to contribute to the change programme more widely.
