This team assess children who are delayed in more than 2 areas of their development. They provide detailed developmental assessments and autism spectrum assessments.
This team run outpatient clinics in Perth Royal Infirmary, Armitstead Child Development Centre and health centres across Angus.
Referrals are made by health professionals, usually health visitors, and must include a recent developmental assessment. All referrals are vetted by a senior doctor and may be redirected or declined if they do not meet the referral criteria.
Many children who are referred to the child development team would benefit from input from speech and language therapy, occupational therapy or physiotherapy first. A great starting point for families is the combined advice line.
