What We Do
The Perth & Kinross Primary Care Team (PCT) is primarily responsible for implementation of the 2018 General Medical Services (GMS) Contract and its supporting Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) through delivery of the Primary Care Improvement Plan (PCIP).

The plan identified six key priority areas:

· Vaccination Transformation Programme (now managed centrally across NHS Tayside)

· Pharmacotherapy Services (now known as GP Clinical Pharmacy Service)

· Community Care and Treatment Services (CCATS)

· Urgent Care Services (Advanced Nurse Practitioners) - home visiting service

· Social Prescribers

· First Contact Physiotherapy Service

· Community Mental Health Services – Primary and Community Mental Health & Wellbeing Nurses

The PCT provides strategic leadership to these services whilst day to day management is through professional and locality operational management lines.

In addition, the PCT works closely with GP Practices across a range of areas including practice sustainability, quality improvement and communication. The team also supports delivery of the Quality Safety and Efficiency in Prescribing (QSEP) programme.

The team works closely with colleagues across Tayside and within the Health & Social Care Partnership supporting a range of public engagement initiatives.

GP Practice contractual matters are the responsibility of NHS Tayside Primary Care Services Department whilst the Chief Officer of Angus Integration Joint Board is the Lead Partner for Strategic coordination of Primary Care Services across NHS Tayside.
