Seek urgent medical advice if your pain is associated with serious or sudden new symptoms.

- Sudden or severe weakness.
- Loss of feeling or significant numbness.
- New loss of bladder or bowel control.
- Numbness around the genital area or buttocks.
- Severe pain following a significant injury.
- A sudden and unexplained change in your ability to walk.
