Scottish Cutaneous Porphyria Service

The Scottish Cutaneous Porphyria Service (SCPS) is a National Service dedicated to the diagnosis and monitoring of cutaneous porphyrias in Scotland. We offer a complete examination program for the diagnosis of cutaneous porphyrias, including plasma and blood cell screening, quantification of total porphyrin levels in blood, urine and stool samples, quantification of urine porphyrin precursors, and porphyrin profiling of urine and stool.

The Scottish Cutaneous Porphyria Service is located within The Photobiology Unit at Ninewells Hospital & Medical School in Dundee. Our full contact details can be found on the Contact the Porphyria Service page.

The SCPS is part of the British and Irish Porphyria Network and the International Porphyria Network (IPNET).
