Child Health
The national and local landscape related to infants, children and young people is broad, complex and exciting. This context provides great opportunity to promote health and wellbeing in the youngest individuals within Tayside's population and, in doing so, to support the best health (and wider) outcomes for them in their most important years.
Central to all of the key drivers which shape the child health landscape is early intervention and prevention. This intentional focus is based on well recognized evidence that getting it right in the early years is one of the most effective strategies towards enabling future generations to live healthier adult lives. Such evidence can be found in the Child Health Profile.
The Child Health Profile presents several measures that capture the geographical differences in the demographic, health and behavioural factors across Tayside during pregnancy, birth and the child’s developmental years. Where the information is available, this report also illustrates child health measures by levels of deprivation across Tayside.
