Bespoke Training Available

We can offer bespoke training on the following topics:

Financial Wellbeing - aims to improve understanding of poverty (fuel poverty, in-work poverty, child poverty, food insecurity), the drivers that help tackle poverty and what participants can do to help those who are experiencing hardship or poverty. Training can cover themes of income maximisation, including social security entitlements, cost of living and employability. Themes can be adapted to suit participants. Timings of training delivery can be discussed.

Examples of training include:

  • Infant and Child nutrition, Income Maximisation and the Infant Food Insecurity Pathway delivered to social work staff with Infant Nutrition team.
  • Income maximisation and fuel poverty support for families (delivered to Health Visiting and FNP) delivered with Home Energy Scotland and P&K Welfare Rights team.
  • Adverse child events, poverty and stigma and vicarious trauma delivered to school admin staff with Angus Council
  • Income maximisation for staff and patients – delivered to NHST bank staff.
  • Community Guiders training for volunteers delivering brief advice on cost of living and poverty delivered with Faith in the Community. 
Poverty Sensitive Practice training:
Main focus of the training -
Participants will be introduced to a range of concepts including:
  • health inequalities
  • wider social determinants of health
  • poverty
  • stigma
  • equity and equality

Participants will be supported to critically reflect on their own practice and explore how these issues impact people in Tayside, and what this means for the way we deliver services. Please contact to discuss need of service/group.
Home Energy Scotland - one of our advice service partners, offers a range of workshops that will help participants to lower their household energy bills, their carbon footprint and to save water. Most workshops are delivered online but they may be able to arrange in-person training to groups. Some examples of the types of workshops that they deliver include:
  • Basic energy advice and referrals to Home Energy Scotland
  • Save Energy at Home
  • Water is always worth saving.

Citizens Advice Bureau - our advice service partner Citizens Advice can offer tailored training to raise awareness about their services and how they support people who are experiencing money worries
