The supportive care team consists of a renal consultant, consultant in palliative care and specialist nurses.
Patients can be supported in either advanced kidney care clinics across Tayside or in the supportive care clinic which is held fortnightly on a Tuesday afternoon in Ninewells. If patients are unable to attend clinic, and fit certain criteria, then they may be offered home visits.
The aim of this service is to keep patients feeling as well as they can and to support them and their family as their kidney function declines.
Supportive Care
This service supports patients who have either opted for a non-dialysis treatment or it has been agreed with their medical team that they may not benefit from dialysis.
